Report on detained Turkish lawyers by Maria Hessen Jacobsen – November 2021

Norwegian lawyer Maria Hessen Jacobsen was on a legal study assignment in Istanbul on behalf of the ECBA Human Rights Committee and the Norwegian Bar Association’s Human Rights Committee.

From 15 to 20 of September 2021 she participated in a court observation in the trial against members of the Progressive Lawyers Association (CHD), Barkin Timtik and Selçuk Kozağaçlı, a prison visit in Silivri, Kandira and Edirne, and meetings with lawyers who have had their legal license revoked.

Following the trip, Maria prepared a written report.
