Get to know our Network

What makes this network special is not only the outstanding legal minds from across Europe, but the way they work together: collegially, openly, and united by a shared commitment to the rule of law. In this interview series, we take a closer look at the people behind this network.

  1. Our network often operates in real time: a question is raised, and shortly afterwards the right person steps forward. If you were that person: who are you, which country are you based in, in which area of criminal law do you specialise and what are you particularly passionate about in your professional work?

I am a Polish lawyer with more than 15 years of experience, specializing in white collar crime. I lead a team that handles the full spectrum of commercial and corporate criminal matters, including cases with complex international elements. Our work often involves coordinating with foreign counsel, navigating cross border evidence, and managing multi jurisdictional investigations.

A significant part of our practice focuses on recovering funds fraudulently obtained from companies, particularly in matters involving sophisticated corporate fraud schemes. We also frequently advise on cases concerning the use of financial institutions for criminal activity, as well as the criminal liability of management board members of companies. We support clients in cases related to business financing, actions to the detriment of creditors, and other forms of economic misconduct.

What I enjoy most in my professional life is becoming the person who understands a case better than anyone else — especially when the file is so extensive that others even hesitate to open it. Diving into thousands of pages, reconstructing events, and ultimately telling the story in a clear and compelling way is deeply satisfying. And what makes it even better is when that work helps the client win.

  1. Many experience this network not only as highly professional, but also as remarkably human, shaped by trust, friendship and a shared commitment to the rule of law in Europe. If we take a step beyond your professional role, what should we know about you as a person to understand why you are so keen to be part of this network?

I am a genuinely curious person who enjoys meeting new people and building lasting connections. I believe that relationships are at the heart of meaningful legal work. For me, one of the greatest satisfactions as a lawyer is being able to recommend a colleague in another country — someone I can describe not only as a trustworthy and skilled professional, but also as a friend and a truly good person. Being part of this network gives me the opportunity to form exactly those kinds of relationships, which is why I am so eager to contribute.

  1. If a colleague were to ask you whether this network is truly worth joining, what would you say from your own experience? What makes it so special for you?

Meeting outstanding professionals from across Europe is truly a mind opening experience – each encounter broadens your perspective and reminds you how much we can learn from one another. It’s also a place where new friendships naturally form, which is something I value deeply. What makes the network truly special, however, is the access to a reliable, 24/7 recommendation system. Knowing that you can instantly reach out to trusted colleagues in any jurisdiction, and confidently connect your clients with them, is an advantage that’s hard to overstate.

  1. Finally, looking ahead: what do you hope for the future of the ECBA, and what contribution would you personally like to make?

I hope the ECBA continues to expand as a vibrant European community. I look forward to meeting even more colleagues from across Europe and tightening the bonds with those I already know. I also hope to keep participating in conferences, which are always held in truly remarkable locations. As for my own contribution, I enjoy welcoming new members attending their first ECBA conference, which may become the beginning of a long and rewarding journey for them. Helping newcomers feel at home is something I really enjoy and I am always ready to do.
